جيري فودور (بالإنجليزية: Jerry Fodor)‏ (مواليد 22 أبريل 1935 - 29 نوفمبر 2017) هو فيلسوف وباحث أمريكي في مجال العلوم الاستعرافية.

حياته

ولد فودور في مدينة نيويورك، وتلقى تعليمه الجامعي في جامعة كولومبيا، ثم تخصص في جامعة برنستون وحاز على الدكتوراة سنة 1960 تحت إشراف هيلاري بوتنام.

شغل فودور منصب بروفيسور للفلسفة في معهد ماساتشوستس للتقنية من سنة 1961 حتى 1986، وفي جامعة مدينة نيويورك بين سنتي 1986 و 1988، ومن سنة 1988 درس الفلسفة في جامعة روتجرز، وهو الآن بروفيسور متقاعد.

أعماله

يعرف فودور بآرائه في مجال فلسفة العقل، حيث طرح فرضية لغة الفكر Language of thought hypothesis، كما صاغ مع بوتنام مفهوم الوظائفية.
