Letter from Hulda Stumpf, 24 October 1906.jpg
Letter from Hulda Stumpf (1867–1930), at the time a teacher of shorthand at Indiana Business College, Indiana, Pennsylvania, to the Africa Inland Mission, an American missionary organization, applying for a position. Stumpf became a missionary in Kenya, where she became known for objecting to female genital mutilation. She was killed there in 1930, possibly because of her views.
